The case against Tyler Robinson — the 22-year-old accused of assassinating conservative activist Charlie Kirk — took another turn in a Utah courtroom Monday.

Defense attorney Kathryn Nester asked Judge Tony Graf for more time to sift through what prosecutors called a “voluminous” amount of online evidence turned over in discovery. Robinson, appearing by audio from jail, faces an aggravated murder charge, with prosecutors confirming they will seek the death penalty.

Newly released text messages and handwritten notes reveal Robinson confessed to the crime in private conversations with his trans boyfriend, Lance Twiggs, even instructing him to delete evidence and stay silent. Police say Robinson left a chilling note: “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”

The next hearing is set for October 30 at 10 AM MT, and Judge Graf has vowed to keep the proceedings public.

Stay tuned as this high-profile case continues to unfold.
