AOC Says Democrats Must Eliminate GOP Rescissions To Protect ‘Every American’s Healthcare’

But the funds she defends also flow into programs illegals use — from emergency Medicaid to community health centers, and state expansions that tap federal dollars.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), the ex-bartender turned congresswoman from New York City — a city now overwhelmed with a flood of illegal immigrants she openly supports — appeared on MSNBC’s All In with Chris Hayes this week and delivered her usual script: scare Americans into believing Republicans and President Trump want to take away their healthcare, while painting Democrats as the only defenders of “every American’s” medical needs.

During the interview, she claimed:

“And when Republicans use a legislative mechanism to gut the American healthcare system, we have to use a legislative mechanism in order to restore it and to fight for it. Because at the end of the day, you know, people may talk about tax credits, this and tax credits that, what they do understand is when you have insulin and you can’t afford it. What they do understand is when your kid has chemotherapy or your spouse gets diagnosed with cancer and you go into a hospital and it doesn’t get covered and you have to choose life and death.”

This is classic AOC: take heartbreaking examples like a child in chemotherapy or a spouse diagnosed with cancer, and then twist them into a sales pitch for the Democrat agenda. The message is simple — Republicans want you to die, Democrats want to save you. But in reality, Democrat policies have made healthcare less affordable, less accessible, and more burdened by the costs of illegal immigration.

Chris Hayes then tried to frame what a bipartisan compromise might look like. He said:

“So I just wanna make sure I, I, I understand — it’s just from your perspective here. So, and I think this is generally the view of congressional leadership as well. You can correct me if I’m wrong. If there was bipartisan compromise, right? If, if, if, if everyone came together, the, the, the leaders of the party’s president said, yes, these five things, we’re gonna make sure that these premium supports keep going. We’re gonna fund community health centers, whatever the sort of acts on appropriation around people’s affordable healthcare. If those were met, Democrats would be a yes. Like that is the box that this is happening in as opposed to we can’t fund a Department of Justice that prosecutes political enemies or whatever else might be out there.”

AOC responded by making it clear what she and Democrats really want to block:

“Well, let me tell you, Chris, the mechanism by which that deal is locked is not just about agreeing in concept on tax credits. We need to do it with no tricks, no games and no back doors, which includes rescissions. And when we talk about rescissions, right, that is the mechanism that the federal government is using to gut and destroy rule of law across the board. So we are fighting to ensure that healthcare is protected for every American, but the way that we do that also means that the only way that you guarantee that is by forcing them to adhere to the rule of law, which means eliminating the rescission loopholes that they put in the CR earlier this year, which the Senate unfortunately had caved on then. And we’re ensuring that doesn’t happen now.”

When AOC says “every American,” Democrats use that phrase to cover anyone inside U.S. borders — including people here illegally. Programs like emergency Medicaid, federally funded community health centers, and state Medicaid expansions in places like California and New York all rely on taxpayer dollars and are open to illegal immigrants as well as citizens. That means the very funding AOC is defending doesn’t just go to citizens — it also supports people here illegally.

AOC even went as far as to call rescissions a way to “gut and destroy rule of law across the board.” But that’s nonsense. Rescissions are a legal budget mechanism Congress has used for decades. They don’t gut the rule of law — they are the law. What Democrats really hate is that rescissions can pass the Senate with just 51 votes under special budget rules, which means Republicans don’t need Democrat support to approve them.

While AOC talks about “every American,” Democrats in Washington are spending more than $150 billion of our tax dollars every year on illegal immigrants — handing out free healthcare, welfare, housing, and more, while American families struggle to pay their own bills. That’s the part AOC never admits out loud: Democrats aren’t fighting for healthcare for Americans, they’re fighting to protect funding streams that also cover illegal immigrants with our tax dollars. Blocking rescissions is how they make sure that money keeps flowing. Which means this fight isn’t really about saving Americans’ healthcare — it’s about making us fund the Democrats’ open-borders agenda with our tax dollars.
