The Food Industry Is Not Your Enemy | What Canadians Forgot

Some Canadian food companies feel frustrated — and misunderstood.

They’re not asking for praise. They’re asking for honesty.

In this short video, we echo the words of food industry researcher Sylvain Charlebois, known as The Food Professor, who recently shared a warning:

“The most devastating legacy of the last decade is the growing disconnect between Canadians and their own businesses.”

Charlebois says Canadians have stopped understanding — or even accepting — why businesses exist.

Politicians are quick to point fingers, accusing grocers of "gouging" and fueling inflation.
But behind the scenes, Canadian food CEOs feel demoralized. Exhausted. Some are walking away.

These companies innovate. They create. They perform miracles.
And they give millions in food and resources to keep Canada’s food banks running.

If you think they’re all evil — maybe you're being lied to.
