Darlene was not raised in a typical home environment, dealing with various struggles at a young age. She became a target of human sex trafficking at 14 years old, leading into a tragic journey for several years.

With the help of valiant pro-life individuals, Darlene regained her freedom and safety.
Throughout her life after trafficking, she joined several pro-life ministries. She spoke to several churches, schools, banquets, and youth groups.

As a part of different anti-trafficking organizations, she seeks to educate lawmakers, healthcare professionals, and social service workers about how to support trafficking survivors.
