Project 8760 | Part 37 of 730 | 8328 Hours to Zero

Digital versus natural decay. The numbers on this screen disappear in a sterile, traceless manner. Each hour, minute, and second simply ceases to exist, replaced by the next. It is a clean, digital process of decay.

Meanwhile, in the natural world, decay is a rich and creative process. Falling leaves enrich the soil, creating the foundation for new life. Decay is transformation, not disappearance. In this part of the project, we contrast these two processes. Our clock shows the inevitability of an end, but the world outside the window reminds us that every end is simultaneously the beginning of something new. This is a meditation on the cycle of life, death, and rebirth, seen through the lens of digital precision.

How to use this video?

As a background for walks in an autumn park or forest.

To reflect on the cycles of life and death in nature and in our own lives.
