In this video I talk about why flexing in Thailand is a terrible idea. Lately there have been several cases of foreigners getting robbed because they were showing off expensive stuff late at night. One guy had a $70,000 watch stolen, another a $3,000 gold chain, and one had 70,000 THB taken. All of them were walking around nightlife and entertainment areas at 2 AM or later flashing wealth and basically inviting trouble.

Thailand is generally safe, but showing off money, jewelry, or high end watches doesn’t impress anyone, it just makes you a target. The nightlife scene is fun, but it’s not the place to broadcast your wealth.

Pro tip: Leave the flashy stuff at home or in your room safe. Don’t walk through Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Hua Hin, or Chiang Mai late at night looking like an easy score. Keep it simple, stay aware, and don’t give anyone a reason to pick you out of the crowd.
