Driver Arrested for Intoxication, MARSTON, September 29, 2025 - Shortly before 2 pm on September 29, 2025, the Polk County Sheriff's Office put out a radio call to be on the look out for a tan older model Toyota 4Runner that was driving erratically. Chief Deputy, Andy Lowrie with The Polk County Sheriff's Office, spotted the vehicle and observed the vehicle swerving and weaving and initiated a traffic stop on the north-bound side of US-59 (near Oakdale Loop). The driver, Orlando Gomez Perez, 21, of Houston, did not speak English. Sergeant Rey Davalos (also with The Sheriff's Office) was summoned to interpret. Chief Deputy Lowrie conducted a field sobriety test on Perez and placed him under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Perez couldn't seem to follow very basic instructions for the procedure. Perez's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Towing out of Livingston.
