Rainy Night Double

I figured the coyotes would be out hunting early with intermittent rain and drizzle. Sure enough the fields were full of rodents and that made calling and keeping their attention difficult. The first coyote was headed my way when apparently he stumbled across a big rat. So he proceeded to sit down and take forever it seemed to eat that meal. I got tired of waiting for him and decided to take a chance on the shot. I couldn't see all of his body, but there was enough for the 50 V-max to end his rat meal at 176 yds. Not much video to show and the range and digital zoom didn't make for very good video, but it was a dead coyote nonetheless. Second coyote was also more interested in the rodents that my prey distress sounds, but he worked close enough for a broad side shot at 135 yds. There was a third coyote that shows briefly in the background on this one but couldn't entice it back with so much food out there. Still, it turned out well considering the weather.
