✅ Flight test complex specialists have assessed the safety of recovering the SJ-100 aircraft from an unintentional pitch and roll upset with speed exceeding the limit values (so-called VMO and MMO). This function is managed by the integrated control system (ICS), developed by specialists from KRET, part of the Rostec corporation.

✈️ The flight was conducted by a joint crew of test pilots from Yakovlev and the Russian Aviation Register. It was noted that under any crew actions, the ICS reliably prevents the aircraft from exceeding instrument speed and Mach number limits. If atmospheric conditions cause the aircraft to enter these regimes, the ICS allows safe recovery to normal operating flight conditions.

✈️ The ICS algorithms, developed by Yakovlev specialists and verified by TsAGI, work so that to return the aircraft to normal flight conditions it is enough to release the side control stick. It will then return to neutral pitch and roll positions.

📌 Interesting fact: during tests, a speed of 324 knots was reached, only 14 knots above the limit. Earlier flights showed that piloting in normal ICS mode and holding the side stick in a dive position allows reaching 334 knots, which is 3 knots less than the so-called VD speed (dive speed set as flutter limit). This fact once again confirms the reliability of the ICS limiting functions.
