Watching Trains Ep 15 - F3's and Steam Helpers

We acquired an A,B,B set of Steward Hobbies F3's years ago. They have been on our display shelf and we have always wanted to get them operational on the layout.

The Stewart Hobbies F-Units are highly detailed models with Kato drive components. They are very smooth and quiet running models. Once equipped with Soundtraxx decoders they are fantastic.

In this video, the F3 202 A,B,B diesel consist takes a Fruit Growers Express (FGEX) from Albuquerque New Mexico, to La Junta Colorado.

Steam Locomotives 3829 and 840 are at the Helper Pocket in Lynn, and just got the call to meet Extra 202 at the Raton Tower.

After helping EX 202 over the pass, the 3829 and 840 will be removed at Wootton, and EX 202 will continues its trip to La Junta. Once EX 202 has passed the Wootton switch, 3829 and 840 will head back to the Helper Pocket at Lynn.

Watch the exciting action as Extra 202 and steam helpers 3829 and 840 work the train up the pass with wide open throttles. Then see Extra 202 continue downgrade to Jansen Colorado in full dynamic braking.
