The Hopalong Cassidy television appearances sparked a new radio series at a time when radio shows were being turned into new television shows. A radio version featuring Andy Clyde as the sidekick, except in episodes 28-53 of the 105-episode broadcast by the Mutual Broadcasting System.  A number of radio actors replaced him for unspecified reasons. From 1948 to 1950, the program was syndicated. On January 1, 1950, it started airing on Mutual.  The program switched to CBS Radio at the end of September, where it remained until 1952.
Over 12 hours of programming originally broadcast from January 1, 1950, to July 23, 1950
