In this episode, I get on the bike to tackle a tough question: what if universal basic income isn’t the nightmare people think it is? What if—used the right way—it could free us to live out our real purpose?
Too often, we confuse our jobs with our identity. We grind, we hustle, we bleed for the nine-to-five, and then call it “purpose.” But money isn’t the purpose—it’s just the fuel. It buys us the time, space, and opportunity to do the things that actually matter: creating art, spending time with loved ones, building something that lasts, serving others.
Sure, your job can be your purpose, and for some, it is. But what about the ones called to more? The writers, the painters, the entrepreneurs, the parents, the friends—the people who long for something greater than punching a clock. Maybe UBI is an opportunity to shift the focus from survival to significance.
