Well, we're dealing with Israel's history. The Books of Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles deal with a large section of about 575 years of Israel's history, from about 1,100 BC to 586 BC, at the Babylonian captivity, when the Jews were taken captive to a foreign country. Israel had repeatedly broken God's Commandments.

The kingdom of the 12 tribes of Israel had begun with King Saul, and succeeded by David, A man after God's own heart.

As we have seen, the Kingdom is now in King Solomon’s hands. That is the history we are looking at. King Solomon is the one who will complete all that David had prepared.

Solomon will build the temple in Jerusalem, and we're right where he is doing so. Solomon is building a temple for the Lord and bringing the Ark of the Covenant into it.
