UNGA: India's Jaishankar Calls Pakistan the “Epicentre of Global Terrorism”

Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar criticised Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Jaishankar called Pakistan the “epicentre of global terrorism”, adding, “For decades now, major international terrorist attacks are traced back to that one country.” The Indian EAM raised the deadly Pahalgam terror attack in his speech and emphasised India's right to defend its people. Jaishankar also outlined India's approach to the contemporary world based on "self-reliance, self-defence and self-confidence". He also highlighted the uncertainty posed by trade tariffs and the need to reform the UN Body. The Indian minister raised the concerns of the Global South and pushed for a peaceful resolution to the war in Ukraine and Gaza.
