Benjamin Netanyahu could not contain his excitement over Trump’s executive order on TikTok’s sale to US investors, calling social media a “weapon” & saying the ownership transfer will be hugely “consequential.”

He has good reason to be cheerful.

According to CNBC, TikTok’s new owners will include:

🔴 Oracle, Zionist donor Larry Ellison’s cloud & data services giant

🔴 Silver Lake Partners, a top Oracle shareholder with investments in Group 42, a UAE-based firm which has joint ventures with Israel Aerospace Industries & Rafael Advanced Defense Systems

🔴 MGX, an Emirati state-owned AI investment platform

These big three are expected to buy a 45% ownership stake in TikTok USA.

Much of the remainder could go to:

🔴 Rupert Murdoch, media mogul getting an ADL award for his “stalwart support of Israel”

🔴 Michael Dell, whose company has sold servers to the IDF, & whose foundation offers humanitarian support to Israelis

🔴 Sequoia, an investment firm funding Israeli defense tech, cyber & AI startups. Partner Shaun Maguire says investing in Israel is a “moral” act.

🔴 Susquehanna, a trading & tech group with deep links to Israeli security & services companies. Co-founder Jeff Yass has bankrolled the Central Fund of Israel, which supports illegal settlements in the West Bank, and also the Friends of the IDF and the David Horowitz Freedom Center.

🔴 General Atlantic, an equity firm touting over $750M in Israeli tech investments from 2019-2022 alone.

What will new ownership mean for TikTok?

Despite evidence of its algorithm shadowbanning pro-Palestinian creators & removing Gaza content, the original TikTok had an outsized anti-Israel audience, with a 2024 Northeastern University study finding that pro-Palestine posts outnumbered pro-Israel ones ~20 to 1.

If The Intercept’s February 2025 report on Oracle’s clampdown on anti-Israel voices inside the company is anything to go by, TikTok’s anti-Zionist creators are about to have a very rude awakening.
