By holding the treasury assets used to back the Stablecoins and issuing a fiat digital currency, the US Government can purchase hard assets (likely Gold & Bitcoin). They can also inflate the currency outside of having to go to the Federal Reserve to print more money at interest. This allows the Government to pay off its debts with an even more steadily depreciating currency, buy hard assets, let the US Dollar fall off a cliff along with the debt collectors paid off with that dissolving currency, they will be left holding the bags.
