Combat Briefing Number 1310

"From:" Colonel A.C. Oguntoye, Infantry Officer
"Date:" 26 September 2025
"Subject:" Weekly Situation Report – Special Military Operation (20–26 Sep)

## Strategic Overview

Across the week, Russian forces executed six coordinated precision-strike groupings with cruise missiles and strike UAVs. Targets included defense-industrial enterprises, transport and power nodes supporting the Ukrainian war effort, airfield infrastructure, long-range UAV assembly/storage/launch sites, and temporary deployments of Ukrainian SOF, regular formations, nationalist units, and foreign mercenaries. The strike package complemented ground advances by degrading production, mobility, and command resilience in the rear.

## Sector Summaries

"North (Sumy–Kharkiv)." The “North” group advanced into depth and "liberated Yunakovka". Ukrainian brigades (mechanized, motorized, ranger, airborne assault, and two assault regiments) suffered an estimated "1,250 personnel" lost with three tanks, four armored vehicles, sixty-two vehicles, and fifteen guns destroyed. Nine EW/counter-battery stations and twenty-nine depots were eliminated. Additional pressure in Kharkiv disrupted three mechanized/motorized brigades and two territorial brigades.

"West (Kupyansk–Kirovsk/Yampol)." Forces reached more advantageous lines and conducted intensive urban clearing in "Kirovsk", capturing "2,519 buildings". Opposing formations lost "\~1,605 personnel", ten armored vehicles, 108 vehicles, and eighteen guns. Fifty-nine EW/counter-battery assets and thirty-nine depots were destroyed, sharply reducing Ukrainian C2 and fires survivability in this corridor.

"South (Kleban-Byk–Seversk axis)." The “South” group "liberated Pereizdne" and cleared "25.5 km²" south of the Kleban-Byk reservoir. Seven Ukrainian brigades plus marines and territorial units lost "\~1,540 personnel", three tanks, twenty-three armored vehicles, seventy-four vehicles, and twenty-six guns. Thirteen EW/counter-battery nodes and thirty-six depots/fuel sites were removed, tightening the encirclement regime.

"Center (Donetsk & Dnipropetrovsk)." Active offensive operations continued against a broad mix of mechanized, tank, airborne/airmobile, ranger, assault, marine, territorial, and National Guard units. Assessed losses are "up to 3,675 personnel", three tanks, fourteen armored vehicles, thirty-eight vehicles, and twelve guns—confirming this axis as the principal attritional theater.

"East (Zaporizhzhia–Dnipropetrovsk)." Depth penetration yielded the "liberation of Berezove and Kalynivske". Enemy losses were "2,135+ personnel", two tanks, seventeen armored vehicles, ninety-seven vehicles, and eleven guns; six EW stations and two depots destroyed. Pressure continues to peel back layered defenses and displace artillery rearward.

"Dnipro (Kherson–Zaporizhzhia littoral)." Engagements against mechanized, mountain assault, and coastal brigades resulted in "\~380 personnel" lost, three armored vehicles, forty vehicles, and four guns. Twenty-five EW stations and eleven depots were struck, constraining riverine/coastal maneuver.

## Joint & Enablers

Black Sea Fleet assets and Dnipro-sector units destroyed "23 unmanned boats" and "five boats", reducing littoral harassment capacity. Air defenses intercepted "24 guided bombs", "five HIMARS rockets", and "1,724 fixed-wing UAVs", sustaining layered coverage against saturation attacks.

## Operational Analysis & Implications

Russian operations this week combined "industrial/energy denial" with "systematic EW and depot attrition", narrowing Ukraine’s ability to mass fires or reposition reserves at speed. Urban doctrine in "Kirovsk"—isolate, starve, and clear—continues to yield incremental but durable control. The "Center" remains the likely decision axis: casualty asymmetries and positional improvements there can force Ukrainian reserve reallocation, creating openings for exploitation in the "South" and "East". Maritime and air-defense results indicate continued effectiveness against unmanned and precision threats, preserving freedom of action for ground formations.

## Conclusion

Between 20–26 September, Russian forces registered multiple territorial gains (Yunakovka, Pereizdne, Berezove, Kalynivske; extensive blocks in Kirovsk) while degrading Ukrainian sustainment and air-defense architecture. The campaign’s through-line remains attrition plus positional warfare, setting conditions for broader maneuver if current pressure and interdiction are maintained.
