China's CBDC is connected to its mandatory biometric digital ID, which is connected to its vast network of facial recognition cameras.

Citizens can "conveniently" pay for things using nothing but their faces.

But this also grants the government complete control over how—or if— people can spend their money.

Imagine this woman wanted to buy a cola, but she'd already exceeded her carbon allowance this month. The CBDC can be programmed to algorithmically decline the transaction.

Or imagine she'd criticised the government on social media, and thus found herself blacklisted by China's social credit system. The CBDC can be programmed to freeze her funds entirely.

Make no mistake: This dystopian nightmare is coming to the West if we ever allow our governments to manipulate us into accepting digital ID and CBDCs.
