Trump’s Assassin Guilty on All Charges
Donald Trump assassination attempt suspect Ryan Routh has been found guilty on all federal charges, with the jury convicting him of attempted assassination, assaulting a federal officer, and firearms violations.
That And More In Todays Political Crack!
Ryan Routh, the man who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump at his West Palm Beach golf club in September 2024, has been convicted on all federal charges. The charges included attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate, assaulting a federal officer, and multiple firearms violations. Prosecutors presented extensive evidence such as surveillance footage, forensic DNA, and bank records connecting him to the weapon purchase. They also highlighted Routh’s 17 reconnaissance trips and intent to carry out the killing. Routh, who represented himself, made erratic statements in court before the jury delivered the guilty verdict. He now faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. The courtroom erupted after the decision when Routh attempted self-harm with a pen and his daughter accused the court of bias.
This verdict arrives amid heightened concern over political violence following the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk earlier this month. The conviction underscores ongoing national debates about security, political extremism, and threats against public figures.
In a separate address at the 80th United Nations General Assembly, Donald Trump attacked global leaders over immigration, climate change, and international conflicts. He criticized the UN as ineffective, dismissed green energy initiatives as damaging to Western economies, and accused China and India of sponsoring war through Russian oil purchases. Trump also threatened tariffs on Moscow and delivered personal anecdotes about his past interactions with the UN. His remarks drew limited response from the audience, contrasting sharply with previous years.
Meanwhile, Google has admitted that the Biden administration pressured the company to remove or suppress YouTube content during the pandemic and election debates. According to congressional testimony, White House officials repeatedly urged Alphabet to take down videos labeled as misinformation, even if they did not violate policies. As a result, YouTube will now reinstate banned creators such as Steve Bannon, Dan Bongino, and Sebastian Gorka. The platform also announced the end of third-party fact-checking, replacing it with a community notes system. The revelation has sparked criticism from lawmakers who accuse the administration of violating free speech principles, while Google has also expressed concern about censorship laws in Europe.
