Go & Sin No More: Woman Caught in Adultery (John 7:53)

When the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery before Jesus, they sought to trap Him between the Law of Moses and Roman rule. Instead, Jesus answered with wisdom that silenced His accusers and revealed His mercy: “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.”

In this powerful account, we see the heart of Christ—full of justice, compassion, and forgiveness. Though this passage does not appear in the earliest manuscripts of John’s Gospel, Christians have preserved and cherished it for centuries because it so perfectly reflects the character of Jesus.
