Filthy Lucre | FORWARD BOLDLY

An age-old problem in the Church is one that Our Lord warned about: “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” (Matthew 7:15)

The Church has always suffered the scourge of faithless prophets and shepherds, those entrusted with the care of the flock — but who choose self-preservation over the well-being of others, who choose cowardice over courage, who choose silence over proclaiming the truth.

And in so doing, they lead the souls of their flock to perdition — and their own souls as well.
