Most Can't Answer This Riddle

You have three closed boxes. One contains only apples, one contains only oranges, and one contains a mix of apples and oranges. Each box is labeled — APPLES, ORANGES, and MIX — but every label is wrong. You may reach into one box and pull out one fruit (you cannot look inside the box). From that single fruit, how can you correctly label all three boxes?
