Episode 22 – Article Four: States

Welcome to Our Republic.

Think of the United States in 1787 less like a country and more like thirteen siblings forced to share a house after college. One’s hogging the food, one’s hiding money, one’s threatening to move out, and two of them are fighting over who actually owns the couch. Article Four was basically the roommate agreement — rules to keep everyone from stabbing each other with a quill pen over unpaid rent.
