A 23-year-old Illinois man, Jaquon L. Timothy, has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm after allegedly shooting his ex-girlfriend in the feet to prove his devotion to his new girlfriend. Police say Timothy told his current partner beforehand that he planned to carry out the act, and afterward admitted to doing so. The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on July 19 in Peoria. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, while Timothy was arrested following an investigation that included a search of his phone.
