Counteroffensive near Dobropillia_ Russian units are surrounded and mass elimination begins

Popular Russian military blogger Yuriy Podoliaka, usually loyal to the Russian Ministry of Defense, recently sharply called the situation near Dobropillya “alarming” and “catastrophic” for Russia.

Podoliaka states bluntly that “the situation near Dobropillya is unfavorable for Russia” and that Russian units “are practically surrounded.” He notes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have deployed “more than half of their assault units” there and are trying to “cut off the salient” in order to force a breakthrough and bypass Russian positions from the north — in other words, a real, large-scale tactical threat.
Podoliaka uses the word “catastrophe” directly and warns: “If this happens, the consequences will be felt for a very, very long time,” implying that a snowball effect is possible throughout the entire autumn campaign. He notes serious losses and depletion of personnel: “we are few — there are no people, the flow of mercenaries is running out,” and “hooligan attacks” are leading to dramatic losses.

Podoliaka emphasizes that the fighting is being waged “from house to house,” and that the losses are “large on both sides,” but the key point is that Russia is increasingly lacking in resources and human resources.
Viktor Tregubov, spokesman for the Dnieper Operational-Strategic Group of Forces, answering questions about the details of the counteroffensive operation in the Dobropil direction, said that the strikes of the Armed Forces are destroying Russian logistical support near Dobropil, which is why the Russians are losing positions there. This was reported on the air of the TV channel:
“They penetrated the first line of Ukrainian defense in small groups, and then united these small groups with a larger group, took up positions and tried to break through. Then they tried to strengthen what they had already captured and send in reinforcements. At a certain point, they started to fail — thanks to effective countermeasures, we started to strike at them, which began to destroy their logistical support, and they began to gradually lose their positions. This continues to this day,” he said.
Tregubov noted that the Russians “overstretched their troops on the front line.” They also cannot provide sufficient supplies at the moment.
According to the spokesman, the Russians tried to send in reinforcements, but these actions were unsuccessful.
“They actually have to push through a ‘narrow place,’ which is not very convenient for them. This is where they failed: the passage that they left for themselves turned out to be too narrow. And when they try to bring in some equipment or establish supplies, they are attacked from both sides,” he said.
