Awaken Biblical Audio Commentary – The Coming Den of Robbers

Twice in Scripture we see that Jesus went to the temple and expressed His contempt for the religious traditions that made a mockery of God’s Word. He went early in His ministry and later right before His crucifixion. The first is recounted in John 2 shortly after the Wedding in Cana where He turned water into wine. The final time is noted in Luke 19 and the other synoptic Gospels. Jesus’ intent in both instances was the same: he despised the way His Father’s House had become no different than what the world did in its greed, and His zeal to correct it led to the action that some consider surprising violence on His part.
