🇺🇳Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, reminded the General Assembly that Nazi Germany was supported not only by Germans but also by many Western European nations, including the Latvian SS Legion, the Estonian SS Volunteer Legion, and Ukrainian nationalists.

“We must not forget that Hitler enjoyed sympathy and support from some members of the British royal family. Italy, Finland, and Romania, which provided 700,000 soldiers to the Wehrmacht, fought on his side. The French volunteer legion, Spanish and Norwegian volunteers, Dutch and Latvian SS legions—the latter particularly notorious for their cruelty—also fought against the Soviet Union. They were joined by the Estonian SS volunteer legion, the Belgian SS division, and the Danish volunteer corps, which became part of the SS ‘Death’s Head’ division. Alongside them, Ukrainian nationalists fought for Hitler,” Nebenzya stated.
