At the Movies 2025 Part 3: Jurassic Park, The Problem of Pride

Pride goes before the fall. The very first sin in the Garden of Eden was pride — the belief that we could “be like God.” (Genesis 3:5) In Jurassic Park, we see this same story play out: human pride tries to control creation, but it only leads to chaos and destruction.

In this week’s At the Movies sermon, we use iconic scenes from Jurassic Park to explore how pride blinds us, creates false security, distorts relationships, and ultimately leads to destruction. But humility opens the door to wisdom, healing, and redemption in Christ.
