Viridian RFX 42

Today we’re taking a close look at the brand-new Viridian RFX 42, a compact enclosed-emitter green dot optic designed for subcompact and micro-compact pistols. Viridian sent this one out to me a while ago so I could put it through its paces, and after plenty of time behind the glass, here are my honest thoughts.

The RFX 42 features a crisp 3.5 MOA green dot, enclosed emitter housing for all-weather reliability, INSTANT-ON® motion activation, 10 brightness settings (including 2 night vision), and up to 28,000 hours of battery life. Built from CNC-machined aluminum, weighing only 0.9 ounces, and rocking the Shield RMSc footprint, this optic is ready to mount and run hard.
At around 339 Scooby Snacks, the RFX 42 lands in a very competitive spot—offering features usually reserved for higher-priced optics.
Would you EDC the RFX 42, or stick with your current setup? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
