He knows all about life and death because in 1974 he faced a death sentence following an eight hour exploratory surgery to find out he had cancer throughout his body. Yes, an eight hour surgery to discover cancer – because remember 50 years ago, we didn’t have the machines and diagnostic tools we have today.

He was told that chemo and radiation were mandatory and even then his chance of survival was not guaranteed. He always gets asked, “how in the world did you leave one of the most famous hospitals in the world to go to Tijuana for a treatment that not many people have heard of?”
