The Way Up Is Down Because God Said So | Servant of Servants

The lofty looks of man will one day be humbled, and every haughty heart will be bowed down before the glory of the Lord (Isaiah 2:11). Men give each other grand titles — “Prince of Preachers,” “Pastor of Pastors,” even “Holy Father.” But the greatest title in heaven is not exalted by men; it is given by God — King of Kings, and below Him, servant of servants.

True greatness in God’s eyes is found not in scheming for titles or self-promotion, but in humility and service. When you see the hurting, the broken, the ones cast aside, and you stoop down to serve them — you are walking in the very footsteps of Christ. Promotion comes from the north; it is God alone who lifts up.
