Antifa isn’t just a harmless “idea” — in practice it operates like a networked organization: local affinity groups and chapters run websites and public social-media pages, maintain Discord/Signal/WhatsApp channels and other encrypted chats to plan actions, set up mutual-aid and legal-defense funds, circulate training/how-to guides and target lists, coordinate travel and protest logistics, and rely on traceable tools like event pages, bank accounts and public fundraisers that leave digital footprints — all of which let investigators, reporters and government officials map networks of people and groups rather than a single abstract philosophy.
