The 9/11 Commission authorized by Congress was a total fraud from the beginning. Led by the same people who were responsible for preventing the attack, the Commission was deliberately “set up to fail.” 9/11 widow and lawyer Kristen Breitweiser forced the Bush administration’s hand, exposing how the Commission was designed to hide the truth.

We’ve centralized all the evidence, key players, and timeline into this Watch Companion: www.tuckercarlson.com/the-911-files-watch-companion-ep-2.

Introduction
In the wake of 9/11, the administration immediately sought to use the attacks for political gain. George W. Bush and his administration leveraged the tragedy to launch a global war on terror while systematically ignoring questions about intelligence failures and forewarnings.

The formation of the 9/11 Commission—presented to the public as an independent investigation—was, in reality, an elaborate cover-up. Firsthand accounts from 9/11 widows, congressional investigators, and insiders make clear how the official story of 9/11 was controlled, pre-scripted, and filtered. Because of the 9/11 Commission, the public never received a full accounting of what happened leading up to and on 9/11, and key questions about intelligence failures, political agendas, and foreign policy remain unanswered. Part two of our series, The 9/11 Files: The Cover-up Commission, outlines it all.

Key Figures to Reference
Key figure image for George W. Bush
George W. Bush
U.S. President (2001–2009). Leveraged the attacks to launch the War on Terror and influence the narrative around intelligence failures, while resisting deeper scrutiny into government accountability.

Key figure image for Karl Rove
Karl Rove
Senior Advisor to President Bush (2001–2007). Directed the administration’s messaging and controlled the 9/11 Commission’s narrative to protect Bush’s presidency.

Key figure image for John McCain
John McCain
U.S. Senator (1987–2018). pushed for the creation of an independent 9/11 Commission, partially as political retaliation against Bush for spreading rumors that he had secretly fathered a black child.

Key figure image for Kristen Breitweiser
Kristen Breitweiser
9/11 widow and activist (2001-present). One of the “Jersey Girls,” she fought for a real investigation into the attacks and government failures. Her firsthand account comprises much of this episode.

Key figure image for Richard Clarke
Richard Clarke
White House counterterrorism czar (1998–2001). He sought to prioritize counterterrorism before 9/11 but was sidelined in favor of political agendas and told military investigators that the CIA was aware of the existence of two of the 9/11 hijackers but kept that information to themselves as part of a failed attempt to recruit the terrorists for a “false-flag” operation.

Key figure image for Donald Rumsfeld
Donald Rumsfeld
Secretary of Defense (2001–2006). Exploited 9/11 to advocate immediate military action against Iraq, diverting attention from Al Qaeda and reshaping the U.S. response around regime change.

Key figure image for Philip Zelikow
Philip Zelikow
Executive Director of the 9/11 Commission (2003–2004). With prior ties to the Bush administration and Condoleezza Rice, he defined the commission’s scope and pre-wrote portions of its report, and controlled access to sensitive information. In 2002, Zelikow advocated for the Iraq War, stating that Iraq was a threat to Israel. He admitted that the American government doesn't want to publicly emphasize the fact that the Iraq War served Israel's interests "because it is not a popular sell."

Key figure image for Condoleezza Rice
Condoleezza Rice
National Security Advisor (2001–2005). Central to pre-9/11 intelligence decisions, she worked closely with Philip Zelikow and the Bush administration to frame the commission’s findings around “intelligence failure” rather than political accountability.

Key figure image for Tom Kean
Tom Kean
Chairman of the 9/11 Commission (2002–2004). Former New Jersey Governor who admitted the commission was “set up to fail,” yet still presided over its constrained investigation.

Key figure image for Abraham Sofaer
Abraham Sofaer
Hoover Institution fellow (1994–present). Testified before the commission, advocating preemptive action and suggesting links between Iraq and Al Qaeda, reinforcing the administration’s case for war.

Key figure image for Laurie Mylroie
Laurie Mylroie
Scholar with the neoconservative think tank AEI (2001-2002). Brought before the commission to argue that Iraqi intelligence masterminded 9/11, providing intellectual cover for the Bush administration’s Iraq agenda despite her claims being discredited.

Timeline of Events
September 11, 2001
9/11 Attacks
In the aftermath of the attacks, the Bush administration immediately pushed for war in Afghanistan and Iraq instead of investigating intelligence failures.

Late 2001 – Early 2002
Jersey Girls Advocate for Inquiry
9/11 widows, including Kristen Breitweiser, advocate for accountability and an independent investigation after discovering administration obstruction.

June 19, 2002
NSA Intercepts Leaked to the Press
Al Qaeda messages intercepted by the NSA the day before the attacks (‘The match begins tomorrow’, ‘Tomorrow is zero hour’) are leaked to CNN. The Bush administration retaliates by pressuring Congress and the joint inquiry.

November 27, 2002
Commission Created
President Bush signs John McCain’s bill establishing the 9/11 Commission. With a paltry $3M budget, weak subpoena power, and direct White House influence, this commission was “set up to fail” from the beginning.

January 27, 2003
Philip Zelikow Appointed Executive Director
Zelikow, a Bush administration insider with ties to Condoleezza Rice, pre-writes the report outline, consolidates staff control, restricts access to documents, and communicates with White House political strategists.

2003–2004
Manipulation of Hearings & Evidence
The commission’s access to key witnesses is heavily restricted. White House narratives are inserted into the report, and the hearings are stacked with pro-Iraq War witnesses (Abraham Sofaer, Laurie Mylroie).

April 2004
Congressional Confrontation
Senator Bob Kerrey questions Rice about Zelikow’s pre-9/11 involvement; evidence shows Zelikow helped structure counter-terrorism operations and was responsible for demoting Richard Clarke. The man whose failures contributed to 9/11 was officially in charge of investigating it.

July 22, 2004
Official Commission Report Published
Report largely reflects the outline pre-written by Zelikow; major White House and CIA actions omitted or downplayed. Cover-up narrative established, shaping public perception of 9/11.
