Welcome to Our Republic.

In the summer of 1787, Philadelphia was boiling — and not just from the heat. The nation itself was hanging by a thread. The Articles of Confederation had failed, and if the United States was going to survive, the Framers had to build something stronger.

And at the center of it all was one burning question: Who makes the laws?

Today we’re diving into Article One of the Constitution — the longest article, the first article, and the one that builds the beating heart of the republic: Congress.
