Hi everyone, welcome back to the elephant zone. This time, we’re taking you on an emotional and challenging journey to help a baby elephant who has been unwell for the past few days. In this video, you’ll see the tireless effort and compassion that went into giving this poor creature the care and comfort it so desperately needed.

The elephant's poor health was not caused by human activity. Officials explained that its condition was due to natural factors, such as a parasitic infection.

Knowing the urgent need to be treated, the veterinary doctor decides to sedate the elephant.
As soon as the dart was struck in the elephant, it rushed into the deep forest in fear and pain. This is the fear they bear in their hearts for humans and their cruel acts.
This poor elephant was first noticed by a group of villagers who had been passing by for their daily agricultural work.

They have noticed the isolated elephant with an unusual behaviour.
They stated that the elephant was unable to eat, had difficulties walking, could not move with its herd, and had been wandering around human settlements, attacking anyone who passed by.
These individuals knew that if the baby elephant did not receive proper medical care, the elephant's condition would soon become worse. So they acted right away and requested help.
Then a team of wildlife conservation officials and veterinary professionals arrived to provide the baby elephant with the emergency medical care it needed.
Upon monitoring, the officials discovered the elephant in a lethargic state, weak and lacking the strength to move around actively as it should.
At first, the officials and the doctor predicted that the unfortunate elephant might have faced a gunshot or jaw exploder.
But once the elephant was fully sedated, after about 15 minutes, the officials rushed to the elephant to confirm the correct reason for this poor health condition.
They discovered a few minor injuries around its body. So, they started the injection process. Antibiotics, multivitamins, painkillers, and anti-inflammatory drugs are some of the medicines that are administered intramuscularly.

The doctor carefully examines the elephant’s stool in order to figure out whether the elephant is experiencing infection, constipation, dehydration, the presence of microscopic organisms, or another cause influencing its health.

At the same time, other officials inspect the elephant’s mouth to check for any injuries caused by a jaw bomb. He checks the whole mouth, including the teeth, tongue, and jaw.

These tasks are performed simultaneously to speed up the process and minimize the time the elephant remains under sedation.
However, they couldn’t identify any of those signs. But the officials could confirm that the main reason for this weak condition is a natural cause.
An officer gently removes all stool from the elephant. This step makes the elephant feel more relaxed and relieved. During the procedure, the officer notices that the elephant appears to be dehydrated and may have an issue in its digestive system.

The officer clears all the stool from the elephant’s rectum by hand, wearing gloves to maintain hygiene and prevent any risk of infection for both himself and the elephant.
They care deeply about this poor creature and are always ready to face any challenge to save it.
The doctor injects a dosage of ivermectin into the elephant intramuscularly because this medicine could fight dangerous parasitic infections like liver fluke.
Now that the treatment process is completed, the revival drug was injected through the major ear vein.
That has brought us to the end of this treatment mission. A ranger officer was assigned to observe the elephant's recovery progress. And there will be another treatment carried out to treat this elephant.

As you can see, the elephant acts aggressively toward the officials who are attempting to help it. Unlike tamed animals, these elephants can get violent against anyone nearby, so making close interactions with these wild elephants is extremely dangerous.

In this moment, the elephant unexpectedly runs chasing two officials. As they run for safety, one official falls to the ground. At that point, his life could have been in grave danger if the other official had not acted immediately to assist him. This demonstrates the severe risks these officials face when attempting to save such a powerful and unpredictable animal.
The doctor collects a stool sample to identify the main cause of the illness and determine the best method to treat the elephant in the future.
Thank you for watching till the end. We thank all of our viewers, the veterinary doctor, veterinary officials, wildlife conservation officials, the kind villagers who informed us about the incident, and everyone else who took part in the mission.

Let's meet again with another video captured while saving another unfortunate creature.
