Palestinians welcome state recognition as first step to ending Israeli occupation

People in the occupied West Bank have been reacting to the news of Palestinian state recognition. They say the move is long overdue.
This wave of recognitions is seen as a response to Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people, whether through the genocide in Gaza or the assault on the occupied West Bank.
Many Palestinians know their lives won’t change immediately but the recognition is seen by many as a step towards the end of the occupation.
