And we will be describe in this that: (Why is the Quran called a book of wisdom in Surah Yunus), So sisters, brothers friends and elders, Our aim is to learn and teach from the Quran and Sunnah, reflect on history, and seek solutions to problems with divine guidance. May Allah Almighty make our this statement beneficial and a source of light for all hearts.

Surah Yunus is the tenth chapter of the Holy Quran and contains one hundred and nine verses. It was revealed in Makkah and addresses the core principles of faith, guidance, and the Hereafter. At the very beginning, the Quran describes itself as a book of wisdom. In Surah Yunus verse 1, Allah says: “Alif Lam Ra. These are the verses of the Book of Wisdom.” This introduction establishes the Quran as a scripture filled with divine wisdom that surpasses human understanding. The choice of the word wisdom reflects that the Quran is not just a book of commands but also a source of deep knowledge, guidance, and insight for those who reflect.

The Quran is called a book of wisdom because it provides solutions and guidance for every aspect of human life. Wisdom in the Quran is not limited to intellectual knowledge but extends to moral and spiritual insight. The teachings of the Quran are designed to guide mankind to what benefits them in this world and the Hereafter. Allah mentions in Surah Yunus verse 57: “O mankind, there has come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers.” This verse shows that the Quran’s wisdom lies in its ability to heal hearts, provide guidance, and bring mercy. It is far beyond the reach of human philosophy or personal reasoning, because its wisdom is divinely inspired.

The Quran’s wisdom is also seen in its ability to explain reality and separate truth from falsehood. In Surah Yunus verse 32, Allah says: “So that is Allah, your true Lord. And what can be beyond truth except error? So how are you turned away?” This verse reveals the wisdom of recognizing Allah as the only Lord and shows that any other belief is misguidance. The Quran simplifies complex matters of faith by giving clear, decisive answers. This clarity is a form of wisdom, because it prevents confusion and leads people to certainty.

Another reason why the Quran is called a book of wisdom is because it confirms earlier revelations while correcting their distortions. Allah mentions in Surah Yunus verse 37: “And this Quran is not such as could ever be produced by other than Allah, but it is a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of the Book, about which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds.” This verse describes the Quran as an explanation and clarification of divine truth. Its wisdom lies in bringing together the teachings of previous scriptures and completing them in the most perfect way. Unlike human writings that change with time, the Quran’s wisdom is eternal and flawless.

The Quran’s style itself is a sign of its wisdom. The Arabs of Makkah were masters of poetry and language, yet they could not produce anything similar to the Quran. Allah challenged them in Surah Yunus verse 38: “Or do they say, he invented it? Say, then bring forth a surah like it and call upon whoever you can besides Allah, if you should be truthful.” This challenge remains unanswered until today, proving that the Quran’s language and wisdom are beyond human ability. Its verses combine eloquence with depth, making it a miracle of speech and guidance.

The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, described the Quran in ways that highlight its wisdom. In Sunan al Tirmidhi, Hadith number 2906, the Prophet said: “This Quran is the banquet of Allah. Learn as much as you can from His banquet. This Quran is the rope of Allah, the clear light, and beneficial healing. It is a protection for those who hold fast to it and a salvation for those who follow it.” This hadith shows that the Quran is a feast of wisdom offered to humanity. Whoever holds to it gains light, healing, and safety. This description reflects the same message given in Surah Yunus, where the Quran is presented as the ultimate book of wisdom.

Wisdom also means guidance that stands the test of time. Human knowledge changes and evolves, but divine wisdom remains constant. The Quran provides moral and spiritual laws that are timeless. For example, the command to worship Allah alone and avoid injustice is universal wisdom. Allah reminds us in Surah Yunus verse 25: “And Allah invites to the Home of Peace and guides whom He wills to a straight path.” The wisdom of the Quran lies in directing mankind toward peace, justice, and eternal salvation, which are goals that never change with time.

The people of Makkah accused the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, of fabricating the Quran. Yet Allah made them reflect on the Prophet’s life as proof of the Quran’s wisdom. In Surah Yunus verse 16, Allah commands him to say: “Say, if Allah had willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you. For I had remained among you a lifetime before it. Then will you not reason?” The Prophet lived for forty years among them with a reputation of honesty and truthfulness, without any record of learning from scholars or composing poetry. Suddenly, he brought forth the Quran, filled with wisdom far beyond human capacity. This proves that the Quran is divinely revealed and not the product of a human mind.

In conclusion, the Quran is called a book of wisdom in Surah Yunus because it embodies divine knowledge, moral guidance, and eternal truths. It heals the hearts, provides clear evidence of Allah’s oneness, confirms previous revelations, and challenges mankind with unmatched eloquence. Its wisdom lies not only in intellectual teachings but also in its ability to transform lives, unite communities, and guide humanity toward peace and salvation. By calling it a book of wisdom, Allah emphasizes that the Quran is not an ordinary book but the ultimate source of guidance for every generation. Surah Yunus opens with this reminder so that mankind may approach the Quran with respect, reflection, and a willingness to accept its divine wisdom.

We conclude today's discourse with our this humble supplication: O Allah, purify our hearts, accept our deeds, forgive our sins, and include us among Your grateful servants. Amen
