Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson announced that Texas has entered into memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with nine states to share voter registration data and strengthen election integrity.

The states include Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

The agreements will help:
✅ Prevent duplicate voter registrations
✅ Detect illegal voting across state lines
✅ Safeguard voter databases with strict cybersecurity protocols

“Texans expect fair and transparent elections,” Nelson said. “These agreements provide an effective framework for safeguarding our voter rolls.”

This comes as Texas launches new election security grants to all 254 counties and refers dozens of suspected noncitizens to the Attorney General for investigation.
