In this video, I explore Conwy Castle in North Wales and uncover the story of how King Edward I of England invaded Wales in the late 1200s. After defeating the Prince of Wales, Edward attempted to control the region by building the Ring of Iron — a massive chain of castles including Conwy, Caernarfon, Harlech, and Beaumaris. These fortresses were so ambitious and costly that they almost bankrupted England.
