18 Wheeler Causes 3 Vehicle Crash, LIVINGSTON, September 22, 2025 - At approximately 8:16 am on September 22, 2025, the driver of an 18 wheeler logging truck (driver's names not yet released) was north-bound on Business 59. As the driver was passing Aaron's Tacos, he allegedly fell asleep at the wheel, left the pavement to the right, and took out a black 2008 GMC Yukon (knocking it into a utility pole), and then a white 2024 Lexus is500. The driver of the GMC Yukon was sitting in the parking lot in his vehicle when he was knocked into the utility pole, and emerged unscathed. The driver of the Lexus (Edgar Amaya, 24, of Brownsville) was inside Aaron's when his vehicle was totaled by the semi. The semi looped around on the lawn of First Assembly God of Livingston, and finally stopped on the lawn a good distance from the two cars that he just took out. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with The Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Officer Scott Paske with the Livingston Police Department. Officer Paske was assisted by other officers from Livingston P.D., and Trooper Sean Barnes with The Texas Highway Patrol. Amazingly, there were no injuries. Traffic on Business 59 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. LakeView Wrecker, out of Livingston, was summoned to clean up the mess. PolkCountyToday.com will update this story as soon as other names from the crash are released. This accident remains under investigation by The Livingston Police Department.
