#10 Shalya Parvan: The End of the Battle or a Prelude To a New War?

The Shalya Parva is the ninth book of the Mahabharata. It describes the events of the last day of the Kurukshetra war and its immediate aftermath. After Karna’s death, Shalya becomes the commander of the Kaurava army. The parva narrates his fierce but brief leadership, his death at the hands of Yudhishthira, and the complete destruction of the Kaurava forces. It ends with the war’s conclusion, the fall of Duryodhana, and the Pandavas’ victory.
