Taking advantage of the cloudy weather, the Russian occupation army attempted a breakthrough near Alekseevka in the Sumy region. This attempt led to a massive defeat. This is reported by the Russian Z-resource “Northern Channel”, associated with the Armed Forces of Russia.
The channel’s authors are in a panic due to losses. “Right now, at this moment, the 2nd battalion of the 30th motorized rifle regiment is being brutally destroyed, approaching Alekseevka!!! There is no control, they are being pursued by drones in broad daylight. They thought that the rain would help, they hoped for the best: drones do not fly in the rain? And people are leaving. Not one or two fighters, but in groups of four to ten,” wrote Channel Z.
“Northern Channel” claims that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are actively using heavy strike drones called “Baba Yaga” to destroy Russian attack aircraft. And this tactic is extremely effective. “One Baba Yaga and the detachment is gone. Three Yagas and the platoon are dead. The commanders have no idea what is happening; they have completely lost control!” – noted the Russian resource. “Northern Channel” accused the command of this unit of “betrayal”.

Recall that Ukrainian troops continue their offensive in the North-Slobozhansk direction. The units have advanced up to 2.5 kilometers, while maintaining fire control over key enemy logistical routes. According to the Ukrainian military, in the North-Slobozhansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers continue active actions aimed at destroying the enemy and liberating Ukrainian settlements. At the same time, to prevent enemy logistics, evacuation and reinforcement in certain places, zones of continuous fire cover against the enemy are maintained. Active actions continue in the Oleksiyivka and Yunakivka districts of Sumy region.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently said his country’s troops had advanced into border areas in northern Sumy region, an area where Russian forces have been trying to gain a foothold for months. “There are good results in the border areas of Sumy region,” the Ukrainian president said, citing commander Oleksandr Syrsky. “Our units continue to advance towards the state border of Ukraine,” he added. Since expelling Ukrainian troops from Russia’s Kursk region earlier this year, Russian forces have been trying to establish what the Kremlin calls a neutral zone in Sumy region. Russia has regularly attacked major cities, including Sumy.
