Turning Point USA board announced Thursday that Erika Kirk, widow of the late Charlie Kirk, has been unanimously elected as the organization's next leader. She will serve as both CEO and board chair.

"This was what Charlie hoped for and wanted, as he said so numerous times," Tyler Bowyer, the groups chief operating officer, said in a social media post. " Erika is one with Charlie, and Charlie is one with Erika.
