The reason theses ships were sent to New York and around the world was to treat tortured and abused children rescued from underground tunnels. The two Mercy Class US Hospital ships of the Military Sealift Command, called USNS Mercy and USNS Comfort were repurposed as Prison Barges. An Engineer tried to drive a train into one moored in LA on 01 Apr 2020 but stopped short.

In Mar 2020 White Tents in NYC's Central Park nurses could be seen bringing in big packs of Pampers for the rescued babies, and toddlers and I date say older children.
