Guest Bio:
Jason T. Sands has served with the Office of the Undersecretary for Defense (OUSD), USCYBERCOM, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and in several full-spectrum military operations. He retired from the United States Air Force in December 2007 after 22 years of honorable service.

During his active service, Jason was stationed at Nellis AFB, NV in the 1990s, where he was introduced to programs for the Secretary of the Air Force’s Special Acquisitions branch. In 1998, he augmented INMARSAT telecommunications teams at Menwith Hill Station, UK. By 2003, he was serving as the Special Technical Operations (STO) Manager at Hickam AFB, HI. These assignments gave him rare, firsthand insight into Special Access Programs (SAPs) at multiple levels of planning.

Jason also served during DESERT SHIELD/STORM, NOBLE EAGLE, and OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, and deployed alongside Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) teams. He considers the highlights of his career to be working on some of the nation’s most complex challenges while serving as a Joint Planning Staff member at both NSA HQ and Hickam AFB.
