Gameplay Part 8 (Finale)

The glitz, glamour, and unbridled decadence of the 80s are back in Yakuza 0.

Fight like hell through Tokyo and Osaka with protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and series regular Goro Majima. Play as Kazuma Kiryu and discover how he finds himself in a world of trouble when a simple debt collection goes wrong and his mark winds up murdered. Then, step into the silver-toed shoes of Goro Majima and explore his “normal” life as the proprietor of a cabaret club.

Switch between three different fighting styles instantaneously and beat up all manner of goons, thugs, hoodlums, and lowlifes. Take combat up a notch by using environmental objects such as bicycles, sign posts, and car doors for bone-crunching combos and savage take-downs.
Fighting is not the only way to kill time in 1988’s Japan: from discos and hostess clubs to classic SEGA arcades, there are tons of distractions to pursue in the richly detailed, neon-lit world.

In this playthrough we cover:

Chapter 16 - Proof of Love:

Makoto regains partial sight and reveals to Majima her plan to avenge the deaths of Lee and Tachibana by striking back at Dojima’s lieutenants. Majima, realizing his growing feelings for her, pleads for them to escape together and live a quiet life, but Makoto secretly slips away and turns herself over to Shibusawa. Majima fights through waves of Dojima’s men to reach the penthouse, only to arrive as Lao Gui shoots Makoto under Dojima’s orders. Shibusawa is promoted to Family Captain as Dojima mocks Makoto’s attempt to bargain for the Empty Lot and declares he no longer needs her cooperation. The lieutenants flee by helicopter, leaving Majima to unleash a furious rampage against the remaining guards, beating them nearly to death in his rage. Sera unexpectedly arrives with reinforcements, rescuing Makoto and taking her to an underground clinic as Majima breaks down, fearing for her life. The scene cements Majima’s resolve to protect Makoto at any cost, even if it means defying Shimano and the Tojo Clan.

Finale - Black & White:

Newly promoted Shibusawa orders a purge of Kazama’s supporters while Majima storms Dojima HQ and Kiryu races to protect Sera. Kiryu defeats Kuze in a final duel for honor before heading to the Nikkyo Consortium’s yacht, where he battles through Shibusawa’s men and faces the ambitious lieutenant in a brutal showdown. Shibusawa reveals his years of resentment toward more charismatic yakuza and vows to claim the Empty Lot’s power for himself, but Kiryu defeats him in an intense fight and rescues Makoto. Afterward, Nishiki convinces Kiryu to spare Shibusawa’s life, warning that killing a beaten man would make him no better than Dojima. Meanwhile, Majima carves a bloody path through Dojima’s offices, defeating Awano in a tense duel before facing the deadly Lao Gui in a vicious final battle. Sera arrives just in time to stop Majima from killing Dojima, revealing that Makoto survived and has already signed over the Empty Lot to him, sealing Dojima’s downfall. Majima proves his loyalty by confronting Shimano directly, where he boldly negotiates his return to the family. Shimano, impressed by Majima’s audacity, names him captain and kills an Omi Alliance chief to show his commitment to the Tojo Clan.

Epilogue:

One month later, Sera is promoted to Clan Captain after securing the Empty Lot, while a disgraced Dojima loses control of the Kamurocho redevelopment project and the clan’s future. In Sotenbori, Majima parts ways with Sagawa, who admits his twisted respect for Majima’s survival before being executed by Omi Alliance hitmen, closing their dangerous partnership for good. Kiryu shocks Nishiki and Reina by rejoining the Dojima Family to aid Kazama upon his release, claiming he is not fit for a peaceful civilian life. Months later, Majima crosses paths with Makoto, protecting her from thugs without revealing his identity, allowing her to move forward without the burden of their tragic past. Makoto never recognizes him, and Majima silently walks away, accepting that her happiness means staying a stranger. In a touching post-credits scene, Makoto discovers her late brother’s lost watch buried in the Empty Lot, a quiet tribute to everything they endured. Elsewhere, destiny finally brings Majima and Kiryu face-to-face in the streets of Kamurocho, setting the stage for their future encounters within the Tojo Clan’s violent world.
