On Sunday, September 21, 2025, the U.S. Transhumanist Party invites Professor Stefan Lorenz Sorgner to discuss Euro-Transhumanism, a term he coined in 2022 for a vision that emphasizes a culturally nuanced, ethical, and inclusive approach to technological enhancement. The Virtual Enlightenment Salon will include a discussion of what Euro-Transhumanism is, what differentiates it from “classical transhumanism” in Sorgner’s view, what are some of its policy implications, and what American politics can learn from Euro-Transhumanism, especially in light of the quite turbulent recent political events in the United States.

Stefan Lorenz Sorgner is a world-leading philosopher recognized for his work in posthumanism, transhumanism, Nietzsche, and the philosophy of music. He is especially known for his interpretations of Friedrich Nietzsche and his critical engagement with human enhancement and emerging technologies.
