The Outpoured Promise

The Spirit is for Every Believer! The promise “on all flesh,” “sons and daughters,” “servants,” etc., indicates no separation by age, gender, social status. “And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Not only will we be saved but we will receive the Holy Spirit!

How do we go about receiving the Spirit? Isn’t being filled with the Holy Spirit done? I’ve heard that the Holy Spirit indwelling was only for the apostles so how can I receive it?

First off, the Holy Spirit is here for EVERYONE. Romans 8:9: “if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ” — every Christian has the Holy Spirit. You might not recognize it as such, but when you accepted Christ, you also received the Spirit. Pastor Ruth digs a bit deeper into the Holy Spirit and how and when a believer will receive Him.
