The South Korean government has successfully negotiated the release of around 300 of its nationals who were detained by US authorities following an ICE raid in Georgia. The joint venture between Hyundai Motor Company and LG Energy Solution was intended to create 8,500 jobs and was slated for completion soon to supply battery cells to a nearby electric vehicle factory. The ICE raid adds to existing tensions between the US and South Korea as the two nations have been negotiating a trade deal involving substantial investments.
