UFC President Dana White appeared on Fox News Friday to share new details about an upcoming event at the White House.

President Donald Trump told supporters in July that he plans to host a UFC championship fight on the White House grounds next year as part of America’s 250th birthday celebration. White revealed on “Special Report with Bret Baier” that the UFC’s upcoming White House event will feature a festival-style atmosphere, complete with live bands, outdoor seating, giant screens, and fans sprawled across the South Lawn to watch the fights.

“We’re going to have a stage, where music, you know, we’ll have bands playing all day and then people will be able to bring blankets and, you know, lay around and watch the fights. We’ll have screens up everywhere for everybody,” White said. “We’re literally going to take over Washington, D.C. that week. We’re going to do the weigh-ins there. We’re going to have the weigh-in events. And we’ll have fan events all week. We’re going to do our expo there and just a total Washington, D.C. takeover.”

White said Trump personally pitched the idea of staging a UFC fight at the White House.
